WX8 8 Station Wi-Fi Irrigation Controller

Bought this controller 18 months ago it uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Updated my Wi-Fi which is now 5 GHz the controller won’t work.

Bought his for our holiday home as I wanted to check on the retic regularly from our home. It’s great and I’ve success using it for quite a few years now. Thinking of getting one for our home in the city. Hate having the retic on when it can be off due to rain and being able to control it when 150km away is such an advantage. Also being able to manually put it on is so useful.

This is hands down the best watering investment I have made.
Don't usually leave reviews but saw the low reviews here and felt that it was only fair to jump on and leave a more positive review.
I got the unit with the rain detector which has worked very well for me.
I often jump on to start watering on hot days from work, and walking around the yard activating zones while clearing blockages on sprinklers and drippers each spring beats walking back and forward to the controller.
The only thing I would like is a log of activations to appear in the app, so I can check when a zone was last watered if I feel it's looking a little dry (I have one zone under my pergola which the rain sensor obviously won't work for). I pretty sure I could setup a behaviour on this zone to ignore the rain sensor but haven't got there yet.

All in all a fantastic product, well worth the purchase price and much better than doing everything at the controller.

I bought this from Bunnings las year and it was easy to set up however after a year tlit stop working. It doesn't want to connect to internet anymore and is asking that I need a 2G network for it. So frustrating that I paid for something that only lasted one year. DO NOT BUY this product....!

I already bought four Holman tap timers and added the WX8 to manage the water needs more centrally and flexibly. Unfortunately we found that the WX8 is actually more limited that the tap timers for programming and still having only 3 patterns to manage up to 8 stations makes little sense.

I believe many users investing in a station like this (plus all of the individual valves) will want to rotate watering or have multiple waterings per day. Especially if water pressure may be an issue. The WX8 should have this too but the software limits watering to only 3 programs that must be shared by all 8 stations.

Also, watering is limited to only 4 hours - the tap timers at least gave us 12. And only once per 24 hours. So, not morning and afternoon cycles without using another of the 3 programs.

Extending watering times and having several sequences under one of the 3 programs should be possible with a software update. However, Holman really needs to increase the programming flexibility to more than the 3 patterns (time and day of activation) in a high end unit like this.

Hoping for a software update and a more capable central unit.

This product has been very reliable unit and hasn't had any issues. Absolutely faultless as I have about 100 plants and two lawn areas to irrigate daily. Glad I purchased this.
