What is ‘no watering’ mode and how can I toggle it on and off?

The ‘no watering’ mode on your QuikDial Tap Timer stops any automated programs you have in place, while still allowing manual programming of the Tap Timer. This can be beneficial in the winter months to save on water usage.

Toggle ON/OFF

Press the main dial down for three seconds
The ‘no watering’ icon will appear and stop your automated watering programs
When you want to turn it back on, press the main dial down for three seconds
The ‘no watering’ icon will disappear, and your automated watering programming will continue

Preparing tap timers for winter

Be sure you check with your local water authorities for any sprinkler bans
We recommend either reducing the watering time or turning it off completely
In really cold climates, we suggest that you remove the battery and make sure there is no water left inside the tap timer
If you live in an area that gets frost, we recommend taking off the tap timer completely and storing it away for the meantime

Zone 1 will not switch off

Zone 1 will not switch off, drenching an 80y.o lady's backyard. I recently returned a single outlet timer to Bunnings for her for the opposite reason. It would not switch on. Quality control and attention to detail has slipped to the point where despite many years owning Holman tap timers I'm thinking Gardena which is made in Germany may be a better option.

Does the job

Running a sprinkler, 30m weeping hose, 20m weeping hose and regular hose off this. Only issue is a minor reduction in water pressure for the hose which in our case can be managed through using nozzle settings.

Works well

Initial setup is a bit of a faff, but after one false start the system’s working well for my purposes.
Read a few reviews about leak issues but haven’t experienced any. Only been running the system for a few days but working well so far.

Horrible piece of kit

Absolute waste of money.. As everyone says it’s hard to set up, minimal functions and actually reduces water pressure by around half so sprinklers at the end of the line have no water coming out of them.. Roughly about 25m away from tap to end of line with 13mm poly line and sprinklers every 2m

Too complicated

Spent hours trying to program.
Impossible.

Not so easy!!

The manual is a nightmare! Read it several times, its not in sequential steps... and misses a critical point to hold button for 3 seconds to finally verify your settings! Not in manual or online video. Only worked it out by reading the suspend section and trying it!! Otherwise it works!

One run time per start

Disappointed that you can only set one run time per start. So, all four stations have the same run time for the same start. This means my 10am start which waters my seedling sprayers, and my dripper hose to my vegetable beds gets the same watering time (they start sequentially). One needs two minutes and the other twenty. This is a design flaw in my view. Had known this, I would not have purchased this system.

Hi Matthew, sorry to hear that you're having some issues with your QuikDial. If you bought this product recently, you are able to create 4 different starts, unless you have the old version. The old version has just 'zones' at the top of the screen, and the new version has 'starts' at the top of the screen and 'zones' on the left side. Hope this helps!

Wish I’d read these reviews before buying

Terrible manual, terrible timer. Manual one station wont work. If I need to replace the batteries I loose all the programs I’ve entered. I’m chucking it in the bin, accepting that I’ve done my money and reading the reviews carefully before purchasing again.

It's a shocker

I've written instruction manuals in the past and the instruction booklet with this fails to meet the standard. Took it back to Bunnings to get them to help set it up and they found it difficult and when I attached it to the watering system only 2 of the 3 outlets which were supposedly set up worked and one didn't turn off. What a waste of money!!!
