WARNING – Don’t use in freezing conditions. Before winter or snow, remove your manifold from the tap to avoid the unit from freezing. If the unit is used during winter, open the valve to empty any excess water after it’s use.

Great disapointment

Trying to regulate the flow from a high pressure garden faucet can be tricky when using the standard 90 degree control valves sold by most garden hose suppliers which are more suited to on/off applications rather than fine regulation.So it was with anticipation that I bought today from Bunnings this product which promised a 180 degree of rotational control to regulate the flow going to a drip hose.

When I went to school, 180 degrees was the arc traced out by rotation through a semi-circle. Somehow this definition has been modernised, because I discovered that the control sleeve only rotated through 90 degrees (a quarter of a circle) and does not give much more control than a regular on/off style valve or tap.

I'll have to come to grips with the new mathematics - now 180 degrees = 90 degrees! (this used to be called false advertising, but with social media teaching that anything goes, the truth is now optional and good ol' "caveat emptor" is more important than ever.

I WONT BE BUYING HOLMAN AGAIN - which is sad because I like to support Australian Companies - I will stick to tried and tested Gardena in the future!
